Thank you for your interest in the Green Growth Alliance (GGA) - US/Japan Climate-Gender Innovation Collective for Africa mentorship program.
This brand new program by AlphaMundi Foundation is specifically designed to connect high-impact, high-potential Kenya-based SMEs with American and Japanese mentors with expertise in business growth, sustainability, inclusion, innovation, and more.
We encourage you to read the below selection criteria, program timeline, and information about the program carefully to ensure that this mentorship program is right for you and your business and vision.

Eligibility Criteria & Program Timelines.
Criteria
Minimum 10 years of professional experience with a strong domain expertise in areas such as:
Operations, Sales and Marketing, Information Technology (including Artificial Intelligence, Data Science), Strategy, Human Resources (including employee training, human resources management), Communication, Engineering (particularly around climate technologies), Investing, Finance, Carbon Credit.
Past experience in mentoring/coaching or providing technical assistance to entrepreneurs/businesses.
Strong interest in climate change, gender inclusion, social impact, and sustainable development practices.
Interest and curiosity about entrepreneurship in Africa.
Commitment to participate in 1 virtual mentorship session per month (July–December 2025), which could be outside of standard working hours due to the time difference (Kenya is on East Africa Time, which is GMT+3)
Previous engagement with SMEs in Africa is an advantage but not a requirement.
Open to sharing insights with and learning from Kenyan entrepreneurs, as well as fellow mentors from the U.S. and Japan.

The Green Growth Appliance (GGA) Program is an initiative by AlphaMundi Foundation, in partnership with the U.S.-Japan Foundation, designed to support high impact climate-focused SMEs with a focus on gender inclusion. The program facilitates mentorship and knowledge exchange by connecting participating SMEs with mentors from the U.S.A and Japan fostering innovation, sustainability, and inclusive economic growth by equipping enterprises with the tools, knowledge, and global perspectives to scale and improve their commercial viability.

To provide support for climate-focused African SMEs through high quality mentorship that helps bridge the gap to scalability and long-term sustainability.
Strengthen environmental and social impact by equipping enterprises with the tools and knowledge to embed sustainability and inclusivity into their business models.
Broader ecosystem impact by creating a space for exchange to foster innovation, resilience, and inclusive practices within the climate entrepreneurship space.
Knowledge exchange between and amongst mentors and mentees encouraging cross-cultural learning and collaboration.
Enhance the partnership between the Africa, US, and Japan towards SDGs

The mentorship program will run from July 2025 to December 2025, with a final in-person event scheduled for January 2026. For mentors, the program will kick off with an virtual onboarding session towards the end of July 2025 , followed by monthly virtual mentoring sessions that will run until December 2025. The closing event will be held in January 2026. The date will be communicated during the course of the program.

60 to 80 mentors will be selected from the U.S. and Japan. They will be organized into groups of 3 to 5 mentors, with each group supporting one SME. This structure is designed to promote cross-learning and knowledge exchange across diverse cultural and professional backgrounds.

As a participant, you will engage in a variety of activities designed to promote learning, collaboration, and growth. These include:
Monthly virtual mentorship sessions
Knowledge exchange opportunities to share insights and best practices with fellow mentors
Opportunities to build connections and partnerships with other mentors , mentees and industry stakeholders from Kenya, the U.S., and Japan
